Observation Narrative
Plot location: Marsh edge near southern end of McCarty Loop Trail, in Accotink Bay. A hunting stand overlooks the plot.
See plot for descriptive sketch of location.
This slightly drier fringe of the bay opens to channels of water and Nuphar advena flats quite directly. Zizania aquatica appears to be more abundant in this plot than in the rest of the marsh. Although, there are several stands in the middle of the bay where stands of Zizania dominate. The shoreline is visible from this point. Shells of the Asian mystery snail are in the plot.
